Responsibilities:
There is an opening for an Associate Scientist-Scientist, Cancer Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics. The successful candidate will be responsible for the assessment of small molecule cancer therapeutics in mouse models of human cancer.
The successful candidate will generate, inspect and analyze datasets, communicate results through written report and oral presentation to supervisor.
- Successful job performance includes the development and optimization of xenograft models of breast and prostate cancer to profile activity of small molecule cancer therapies.
- Identify and develop in vivo pharmacodynamic biomarker of response in both tumors and surrogate tissues.
- Investigate and define pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) relationship.
- Define mechanisms of action and resistance in vitro and in vivo as well as effective therapeutic combinations.
The successful candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. degree in Molecular or Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology or related field with 4-6 years industry experience.
Direct, hand on experience with:
- Mouse models of human cancer; namely human tumor cells or fragments growing as subcutaneous xenografts. Experience with breast and prostate cancer models a plus.
- Mammalian Cell Culture.
- In vivo portion of pharmacokinetic/drug exposure assessments.
- Working knowledge of basic principles of human tumor biology and the oncology drug discovery and development process.
